Night Goblin Spearmen

A unit of painted Warhammer Fantasy Night Goblins, or as GW is now calling them, Gloomspite Gits. Really fun, and for the most part a quick and easy paint job. The only challenging/time consuming part is the clothing edge highlights, and the design patterns on the hoods.

The painting is quite simple:
  • Basecoat the miniature in black, then drybrush a medium tone grey over the model.
  • Wash all robes in a variety of GW Contrast paints, including Black Templars, Wyldwood, Akhelian Green, and Gore-grunta Fur.
  • Paint spear shafts, teeth, and pouches VMC Flat Earth, then highlight spears roughly with VMC Medium Grey.
  • Rope, hood patterns, and moon icons are painted VMC Ivory.
  • Metal is painted GW Leadbelcher.
  • Shade entire spear (shaft, rope, and metal) and the belts with GW Aggaros Dunes.
  • Use sponge to apply GW Runefang Steel to metal spear tip.
  • Wash remaining metal areas with GW Agrax Earthshade.
  • Shade pouches with GW Snakebite Leather.
  • Shade moon icons and hood patterns with GW Iyanden Yellow, and reapply Ivory over top areas of moons and inside areas of hood patterns. Glaze with Lamenters Yellow.
  • Skin is GW Deathworld Forest, shaded with Athonian Camo Shade, then layered with Elysian Green followed by Ogryn Camo.
  • Paint eyes white then shade with GW Blood Angels Red.
  • Paint teeth Ivory then shade with GW Skeleton Horde.
  • Edge highlight black robes with VPA German Tank Crew no2, blue robes with a 2:1 mix VMC Field Blue and Ivory, dark brown robes with Reaper Khaki Shadow, and light brown robes with VMC Flat Earth
And that covers the majority of it!
