Dungeoneering!

Work continues on a bunch of Dwarven Forges' Dungeon Game Tiles. They've just started shipping their second Kickstarter for caverns, and recently they had a restock of several resin sets. I sprung for a bunch of Catacombs and some Medieval Building sets, and there's really no way to describe how cool they are.

Speaking of cool, there's a resin Kickstarter going right now from Zealot Miniatures I'm backing called Twisting Catacombs. They've got a ton of cool little accessories and scenery pieces, and so far the quality looks top notch.

Reaper is also expected to deliver on their second Kickstarter for Bones sometime hopefully before 2015 rolls in. So, it looks like I'll have my hands full with dungeon stuff or the next year.

I painted a female ranger mini from the Bones line recently to get back in the swing of 28mm.

Hitting the Beach

Some way OOP Battlefield Miniatures Omaha Assault Teams came in this week, and I'm super excited that I was able to get them.

They're great sculpts. They show their age compared to Battlefield's latest offerings (the several packs I have from their Blitz range is stellar), but the character and motion for each model is brilliant.

Really holding out for a new, updated line from Battlefield for D-Day landings.

Several .30 cal LMG teams, some Boat Team leaders, Bangalore carriers, wounded and medics, and a couple 60mm mortar and flamethrower teams. Bunch of light-kit figures as well, which I might try adding some extra gear to to bring them more in line with the others.

Some WIP for WWII

More kit being close to wrapped up.

Roden SdKfz 232. Just needs some (better this time) pigments and basing finished.

Dragon Ferdinand. Base and pigments.

Really satisfied with the Badger Sotar 20/20 I used to get the finer spray patterns.

Plastic Soldier Company StuG III ausf Gs.
This has to be the third or fourth time I've painted these tanks.
And it really shows on these little guys:

S-Model Hotchkiss H38s.
Also snapped some better pics of the SS platoon I finished up a while ago:

AB Figures, Warmodeling, and one lone Blitz

On closer inspection, it appears I forgot to paint up the last batch's smock ties. May also go back and try and paint in collar tabs (probably black squares with some white dots) to give the impression.

And finally, a few more test figures for ETO US infantry (poor lighting and still a bit shiny from a recent dull coat that hadn't dried). Quite pleased with how they turned out.

StuG III Ausf. E

As part of the Armor/Armored Build over at The Guild, I've recently painted a Trumpeter StuG III Ausf. E to test out some early war panzer grey paint techniques (in preparation for the upcoming Battlegroup: Barbarossa book).

Basecoat black, followed by a coat of Tamiya XF63 German Grey, then panelling in Tamiya XF66 Light Grey. Applied a wash of thinned Burnt Umber and a pin wash of Lamp Black oil paints. Pigments are Secret Weapon Miniatures Yellow Earth and Burning Sands. Stowage is by ValueGear and Plastic Soldier Company.

The Armored Parking Lot

Finish painting and basing.
Finish it all by end of March? I think it's doable.
